Mr India - turned out to be the surprise Mr Lewis promised...(the small gathering this month (4) is our equal lowest attendance(... the evening began amongst the villians at the Happy Union... good old fashioned pub with attendant Irish barmaid and as Ian found out very friendly local faces! Juan was running on central European time as normal...
After a swift Guiness it was down to the idyllic Buckinghamshire Village of Loudwater... Parking is...challenging! as Mr I's has parking for 3.5 cars... but Ian managed to park in a local industrial estate about 3 miles away and Tom just used the Range Rover to push a couple a Nissan Micras out of the way... after some confusion over the lighting at our first table we final found a table Tom liked and settled in for some good food actually.
Highly recommend the mixed kebab starters, and the Lamb Dilruba but a lot of the other dishes had pretty unappetising sauces dumped on them...fairly tasty stuff, and good attentive service made a fun evening...Tom and I had our quarterly argument about whether The City adds any value to the economy, and Ian regailed us with his boxing history...viscious man you know...and Juan admitted to a life of armed guarding the Spanish State before finding science and curry.
Overall we gave Mr India 8 and would recommend you ignore the surroundings and go straight to the menu...this is a good decent place, that if it was in a better part of the world would do far better..but judging by the numberof people in the place...they aren't struggling for business. To the couple we sat to first...sorry Tom nearly fell on you and Juan's bad language..hopewe didn't ruin your evening...
BTW - Mr India..was a 1987 Bollywood Superhero film...and is the owners favourite movie...hence calling namings his curry house after it.... You can still rent the film from www.lovefilm.com.
PS - for those following these things Tom's house in Marlow is very nearly finished. Next month is The Cinnamon Tree...be afraid Littlewick Green, be very afraid...
